BS in Biomedical Engineering, Florida Institute of Technology

Camara is a second-year Ph.D. student in the BEAT Cancer lab. Her research focuses on using principles of systems biology to develop mathematical models of the systemic effects of cancer and chemotherapeutic treatments. The goal is to understand and characterize the distributions of immune response in solid tumors and the long-term cardiac effects of chemotherapeutic treatments. In her free time, she enjoys swing dancing, reading, listening to music, and running. She also loves hanging out with her family and spending time on the Santa Fe River.
